Fostering Hopes Foundation – a passionately committed NGO with the vision of empowering communities, one family at a time, has given business grants to three families and placed six children from these families on scholarships to last throughout their nursery, primary and secondary education.
This laudable programme was carried out on Thursday 17th July, 2025, at the Foundation’s office on the Hampton Hotel Road, by Midwifery Market along Okpanam Road in Oshimili North Local Government Area of Delta State.
The three families – Florence O., Blessing O. and Chioma O. received Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (#250,000.00) each, while their six children were put on scholarships from nursery to the termination point of their secondary education, with effect from next term.
While the programme was anchored by the Program Director on Community Engagement and Development, Comrade Patrick Ochei, the Program Director on Education, Pastor Mrs. Ethel Uto properly advised the beneficiaries to prudently utilize the funds to support their families, insisting that the primary purpose of the business grants is to create economic activities in the home, which underscores the best interest of the children, being the main focus of the Foundation.
Meanwhile, the Foundation collaborators – Deaconess Mrs. Tracy Ikolomi, State Director of NOA, Comrade Mrs. Josephine Omodor, ED of Eyes-On-The-Future Initiative and Comrade Celestine Afokobah, State Auditor of NUJ respectively lent their voices in advising the beneficiaries to adopt “I Can Win Mentality” in order to achieve success out of poverty and risk of family separation.
However, the beneficiaries who instantly received their grants, were emotional in appreciating the Foundation, while also praying for more uplifting for their benefactor and Executive Director of Fostering Hopes Foundation, Nkechi Ukome.
