In carrying out its shared commitment and dedication towards empowering communities, one family at a time, Fostering Hopes Foundation has on Saturday, 15th November, 2025, empowered 20 beneficiaries in the second edition of Skills for Strength in pastry making.
The training session which held at the Foundation’s office in Asaba, Delta State, had trainees of different age brackets who sat under the tutulege of the CEO of Happy Confectioneries Enterprises, Mrs. Happiness U. for about six hours learning how to make egg-rolls, puff-puff, chin-chin and buns.
Some of the beneficiaries expressed their pleasure at the end of the training, appreciating the Founder/Executive Director, Nkechi Ukome and her team for such immense humanitarian gestures, while also appealing for more opportunities to be extended to them in future.
Mrs. Benedicta Egba appreciated the Foundation for approving her to participate even when her daughter, Rebecca Egba is one of the students at the Federal Government Girls College, Ibusa that benefitted from the Foundation’s October scholarship scheme.
For Mrs. Blessing Nwabuokei, she was among the widows that benefitted from the first edition of Skills for Strength in soap making, thereby stating that this would be an added advantage to the soap production that is already putting food on her table.
In her opinion, a young mother, Mrs. Celina Karo affirmed that she had never seen this kind of love from someone who is not in politics or using her platform for personal gains. She profoundly appreciated the Foundation for selecting her, maintaining that she had gained a lot which she would add to other sources of income for her and family.
In an intense appreciation for the Foundation’s gestures towards them, the beneficiaries collectively rendered special prayers for Nkechi Ukome and all the team members helping to advance the vision of the Foundation.
At the end of the training, all 20 participants were presented starter kits and cash for transportation, while they also shared snacks made for themselves.
