Fostering Hopes Foundation has empowered three families with ₦250,000 business grants each and enrolled their nine children in its scholarship programme as part of the fifth batch of beneficiaries since the Foundation’s launch in 2024.
The ceremony was held on Saturday, August 1st, 2026, at the Foundation’s office in Asaba, where the grants were disbursed through instant bank transfers. Before the presentation, the Foundation’s Programme Director for Education Opportunities and Early Childhood Development, Pastor Mrs. Ethel Uto, delivered a financial literacy session, encouraging beneficiaries to manage the funds wisely to strengthen their businesses and support their families.
The Foundation’s Head of Communications, Comrade Patrick Ochei, welcomed the beneficiaries, introduced the team, and outlined the Foundation’s mission. He encouraged beneficiaries to comply with programme guidelines and provide regular updates on their businesses and their children’s academic progress. He also acknowledged the dedication of the Foundation’s Executive Director, Nkechi Ukome, whose vision continues to drive its work.
Goodwill messages were delivered by Mrs. Tracy Ikolomi, Delta State Director of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), and Comrade Celestine Afokobah, Delta State Auditor of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), who encouraged beneficiaries to make the most of the opportunity. The programme concluded with prayers for the beneficiaries and their families.
With the fifth cohort, Fostering Hopes Foundation has now supported 15 families and 51 children through its business grant and scholarship programmes. Beneficiaries were selected through a transparent screening process conducted under the professional supervision of the Delta State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency.
